Beatrice was born in Montreal and moved to England to complete her BSc and PhD in Biochemistry. She was assistant professor at University of Ottawa and Senior Scientist at Allelix Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. in Toronto. SInce 1997 she has been designing FileMaker solutions for large and small businesses, and 7 years ago became Project Manager at The Hospital for SIck Children in Toronto, responsible for more than 800 FileMaker users, supporting more than a hundred FileMaker applications and developing new FileMaker databases to support SickKids' clinical, admin and research staff.

Doug Gardner is the founder of Exoteric Inc., a Toronto-based FileMaker consultancy with clients across Canada and the United States. While working on his Ph.D. at York University in Toronto he lectured in front of audiences large and small. Doug has worked as a FileMaker developer for the past 19 years, and is celebrating his 17th year as a member of FileMaker’s various professional alliances. He has written numerous articles about FileMaker and database development, currently leads the Southern Ontario FileMaker Association (SOFA) in Toronto, and has been invited to speak at the FileMaker Developer Conference for the last 9 years.

He participated in creating new standards and techniques for solutions optimized for iPad and iPhone. From his work with the original FileMaker Plus to the current release, Nicolas has introduced new paradigms in designing and building solutions with simplicity and elegance pushing what's possible with FileMaker further than ever! Besides being the creator of the ingenious Getting Started guided tour, he is the co-inventor of many FileMaker Pro features and author of several technical briefs.

Henri Larzilliere est développeur pour BH&A depuis 2011. Diplômé d’un Master International d’Ingénierie Informatique de Supinfo International University, il suit de très près toutes les nouvelles technologies pouvant étendre les possibilités de la plateforme FileMaker. Développeur de bases de données et web de formation, il participe activement à la veille technologique de BH&A. Henri est développeur certifié FileMaker 11 et FileMaker 12 (et paré pour la version 13 !).

John Renfrew has been working with FileMaker since the two became acquianted during his work as a tour manager in the rock business in the last century. Since then he developed a presentations and audio visual company, handling the logistics for all Jaguar car launches to the press for the last 17 years, and quite a few for Land Rover too.

FileMaker has been at the core of this business development - managing office and warehouse functions, so it was an easy decision to branch out and become a full-time developer a few years ago.

His areas of speciality are small business efficiency and writing Groovy functions for Scriptmaster, which has led to skills in the creation and manipulation of PDF files. Creatively he is inspired by the work of Edward Tufte and Frank Lloyd Wright, and personally is passionate about vibrant colours, architectural form and art from glass.

Julie Sigfrinius manages the Americas reseller and developer channels for
FileMaker, Inc. In addition, she is the regional manager for Latin
America. Julie has experience in selling technology solutions as well as
managing professional services and training companies. Prior to her
current position, she was employed by one of Apple¹s premiere resellers
for 16 years and helped build a successful FileMaker division. Born in Los
Angeles, California, Julie now lives with her husband, three children and
grandson in Minnesota.
